Bot - computer controlled players which simulate mutliplayer gaming

Bug - a fault in the program which can sometimes be exploited
Bunnyhop - in past versions of CS, players could use repeated jumping to gain speed. This has largely been eradicated from latest version, but the term is still sometimes used for a player who jumps around a lot
Camping - staying in one place for a long time when this defeats objective of map. For example, a Terrorist camping at the T spawn with the bomb
Clan - an organised team which take part in gaming leagues often known as clanwars
Client - the machines which individuals play on. They connect to the server to enable communication to other clients
Console - a command line interface which allows you to alter in game variables and issue commands
CS - counter-strike
CT - counter-terrorists
CYA/CU - see you
Deagle - desert eagle
DM - deathmatch
FF - friendly fire - if set to on (as it is on DVF server) bullets will wound teammates calling for greater strategy
FFS - for f***** sake, what T@xman says when he dies ;)
FPS - 1. first-person shooter, 2. frames per second which relates to graphic performance.
frag - to kill someone
GG - good game
GTG - got to go
HPB - high ping bastard - player with ping over a 150
HUD - heads up display - this relays information such as health and ammo to player
l8r - later
Lag/laggy - used to describe slow connection, with the information from the server taking a long time to reach the client/player
LAN - local area network
L337 - Elite
LO - greeting, as in el-lo
LOL - laughing out loud
LPB - low ping bastard - player with ping under 100

Mod - mod(ification) which alters game in some way. CS is a Mod for Half-Life
MP - multiplayer
NME - enemy
N00B - derogatory term pronounced newbie. Generally aimed at players that, though they may be quite experienced, still do stupid things
OMG - oh my God! Expresses disbelief
Own - to dominate a map/player
Packet Loss - packets of information are being lost between the client and server resulting in jerky gameplay
Ping - a guide to the speed at which you connect to the server this is a measure of lag/latency rated in milliseconds (ms). Lower values are better
Pld played. - Compliment to other player
Public Server - sever which is open to anyone. Clan servers may be open at various times, while private servers will generally be password protected
ROFL - rolling on the floor laughing
ROFLMAO - rolling on the floor laughing my ass off
RTFM - read the f****** manual! Said to players who ask basic questions answered in the manual
Server - computer which controls multiplayer games. If it is dedicated, it is used exclusively for this purpose, which improves performance
Spam - repeatedly say something to irritate other players
Spawn - the place where the players begin from at the start of each round
Strafe - to move sideways
SPLB - super low ping bastard
STFU - shut the f*** up
T - terrorists
TP - teamplay
TK - team-kill/team-killer: killing someone on your own side. If intentional or done repeatedly will most likely get you kickd/banned from most servers. A lot of public servers have FF off to prevent this
Ul - unlucky
Wallhack - cheat which allows players to see through walls. Will get you banned
WTF - what the f***? or who the f***?. Expression of disbelief or misunderstanding
