When aiming a sniper rifle your aim is actually affected by your breathing – and like most modern day multiplayer games, you're aim is much more accurate if you take the shot from a crouched or prone position or bother setting up your tripod.

America's Army is Optimized for GeForce2 graphics GPU, so weapon effects – from real Army weapons such as the M16A2 assault rifle and M24 sniper rifle, offer another layer of realism than players are used to. Bullet tracers zip by as machine gun fire barely misses you, and shell casings ping off the ground around you as you return fire to your unknown attackers, this isn’t like any “free” game you’ve seen before as wood splinters and glass shards rain as bullets tear out chunks from the wall behind you.

The Multiplayer missions support up to 32 players involved in a broad range of assignment tours, however before gamers are allowed to play online, they’ll be required to complete the appropriate training course. In America's Army, teamwork is encouraged, through communication – via speech, radio messages, or actual military hand and arm signals.

Gamers will also find themselves subject to the Rules of Engagement for online combat.
